1Sheeld turns your SmartPhone into a re-configurable Arduino shield
Basically, 1Sheeld consists of two parts. The first part is a shield that is physically connected to your Arduino board and acts as a wireless middle-man, piping data between Arduino and any Android smartphone via Bluetooth.
The second part is a software platform and app on Android smartphones that manages the communication between our shield and your smartphone and let your choose between different available shields.
An Android platform brings all your phone's sensors to the hardware experience
It is a simple two screens app. The first screen shows you a list of
all of the available shields, you can select the shields you want
and click next to go to the second screen.
In this screen you'll have all of your selected shields on the right and you can toggle between them. The shields using our library will not need any more configuration. Other shields relying on the pins of Arduino will need to be configured using the connect button on the shield screen.
Compatible with most of the Arduino boards you love including Uno and Mega and any other Arduino compatible boards that have the shields’ form factor
Works on Android smartphones and tablets V2.3 (Gingerbread) and above - provided that the mobile device supports Bluetooth and has the basic peripherals and sensors.
We have integrated a plugin to Tasker on Android allowing you to use any hardware event to trigger an action on the phone and vice versa
We have benefited a lot from the open source community, and we are dedicated to give back. Our Android app source code will be published openly for the community to develop on, we are so excited about what other shields might come up from the community!
All of our hardware design files (schematic files, board design, and bill of materials), and the firmware are also open source, all components are available at the major distributors so you can build your own 1Sheeld!
How to use 1Sheeld?
Stack 1Sheeld on your Arduino board, open our application on your smartphone and pair it over Bluetooth with 1Sheeld.
Open the mobile app, and choose from a wide variety of shields. You can select multiple shields in the same application.
Write your Arduino sketch using our easy-to-use 1Sheeld library. What may have seemed complex, can now be done with only 1 line of code.
