I want to understand how to work ” String getTweetAsString(void)”, if I send a tweet to my mobile phone, for example, “hola_rodrigo @rodrigo” the shield save as string “hola_rodrigo”?

    Thanks for your answer.

    Hi Rodrigo,

Let me explain you first what’s the use of getTweetAsString( ) : this is a super functionality in the Twitter shield which allows you track a certain keyword through all the tweets tweeted by twitters 😉 so when you give the shield a certain keyword like “Rodrigo” using the function Twitter.trackKeyword(“Rodrigo”) So the keyword will be sent to the application to track all tweets having the same keyword and send you only the newest tweet tweeted along with the userName who tweeted the tweet.

So each time a twitter tweets with the certain keyword it will send it back to you along with the users name until you use the function untrackKeyword(“Rodrigo”) which will stop tracking the keyword and you will never get any tweet anymore.

Here’s a simple code to make it easy on you:

just press Arduino’s Reset button “not the 1Sheeld cuz it will disconnect the bluetooth” and then tweet for example “1Sheeld … ” using your account or whatever then check your Terminal which will state the username who tweeted this tweet having the certain keyword 😉 .

hope you got my explanation and please let me know if still things doesn’t work for you 😉 .
